A small group traveled to do more finishing work on the interior of the building that will house the outpatient clinic in Gatamaiyu, Kenya.  The focus of this trip was completing the cabinets in the patient exam room, the lab, the dental room, and the reception area. Along with completing the base cabinets, countertops, and the wall cabinets, additional work was done on the electrical and plumbing.  Four sinks were installed with their fixtures and all connections were completed. Outlets and switches were installed for the electrical. Varnishing was started on the cabinets. The interior was left very close to being ready! The group worked very hard to get this incredible amount of work completed in just about 8 days.

Looking Ahead

For plumbing, the drainage will still need to be completed and the main line in will have to be connected.  A tower for the tank may possibly be added instead of installing the tank in the rafters. For the electrical, only one switch will still have to have the wires run.  Light fixtures will be installed after the ceiling is completed, and when the power main is ready to be connected, the transfer switch and generator will be connected.  The generator will be purchased closer to that time and the housing will also be built then.
