At the medical camp we treated approximately 1,000 patients, many of whom returned multiple days for follow up care.  The American healthcare professionals worked alongside some Kenyan professionals, who provided oversight for the camp and much needed assistance with region-specific illnesses. At the construction site, everyone worked hard to prepare the floor area to be poured, even making gravel by smashing larger rocks, and about one-third of the floor was poured by the time we finished working.  Programs were conducted in six different schools, and the students were so thankful to receive the pencil bags that were painted by kids in the U.S. Nearly 2,000 toothbrushes were distributed. The trip also included visiting three children’s homes and a short safari.
